The Finger Fluency Club is a live weekly class built on one idea: train the hands first, and the music follows. Just like the gym keeps your body in shape, the Finger Gym gets your fingers working at their best — so you can finally play what you hear in your head.

Meet Ron and see the practice tools members use every week.
Not sure your fingers can do this? Prove it to yourself before you spend a dollar. The Starter Course is a free, self-paced introduction to the Finger Fluency method — delivered on SoundSlice interactive notation, the same living practice environment Club members use every week.
This isn't a PDF you'll print and lose, and it isn't a passive video. It's the actual tool. If you like how your hands feel after a week, the Club is the next step.
"Your fingers are capable of far more than you think — they just need the right training."
Most guitar methods start with songs. Finger Fluency starts with your hands — because adult fingers need targeted physical training before anything else makes sense.
Ron Franklin developed the Finger Fluency Workout system teaching adult learners at San Diego College of Continuing Education: people who'd always wanted to play but hit a wall because nobody had trained their fingers first.
"Even though I have played the guitar for decades, I still learn something new every class. Ron's Finger Gym and Target Practice approach has transformed how I practice."
"I can't imagine any in-person class I've ever had being taken via Zoom with such personal attention and results. Ron brings the same energy and expertise to every session."
"The most effective guitar class I've ever had. Period. I've tried apps, YouTube, and other online courses — nothing comes close to the structure and real-time feedback."
"Thank you for being such an awesome teacher; you keep me inspired and motivated to continue with guitar!"
From students in Ron's adult guitar classes — the same method, the same teacher, now in the Finger Fluency Club.
Every Tuesday, 90 minutes live on Zoom. Six hours of real instruction every month — built for adults with daytime flexibility: retirees, remote workers, and second-act musicians.
Develop right-hand control and accuracy for single-note lines — at your own pace, applied immediately to real music you'll enjoy playing.
Train your fingers to move independently — the foundation of fingerpicking that finally sounds the way you hear it in your head.
Adult hands need targeted training to build dexterity, reach, and speed — including the Barre chord and chord changes that stop most players cold.
Most adults feel lost on the fretboard. We fix that with a logical, visual approach that makes the guitar's layout finally make sense.
Technique without music is just exercise. Every workout connects to real pieces you'll actually want to play — notation and TAB, all levels.
Tuesdays, 10am Pacific. A supportive live class where you ask questions, get real feedback from Ron, and progress alongside fellow adult learners.
Targeted finger warmups that wake up both hands — gentle, progressive, and effective even for complete beginners.
The core of every class. Focused workouts for flat pick, fingerstyle, or left-hand technique — Ron demonstrates, you play along and get feedback.
We take what we drilled and apply it to a real piece of music — so technique immediately becomes music you can actually play.
Class closes with your questions and a focused practice assignment so the progress continues all week.
Every piece in the Finger Fluency library is available on SoundSlice — interactive notation that plays back synchronized audio while you follow along in standard notation and TAB.
This isn't a PDF you'll print and lose. It's a living practice environment you use between every class — on any device. You can try it right now: the free Starter Course above runs on the same tool.
Ron Franklin has spent decades turning guitar students into genuine players — currently at San Diego Community College District, where he teaches Guitar & Ukulele, and now through the Finger Fluency Club, his private music studio for adult learners of all levels.
The Finger Fluency method grew out of a simple observation: most adult beginners don't fail because they lack musical ability — they fail because nobody trained their fingers first. Ron built the Finger Fluency Workout system specifically to solve that problem.
Ron holds a Master of Music in Guitar Performance from Texas Tech University. His career spans Hollywood production, international media technology sales across 57 cities and 13 countries, and a published catalog of original music. He earned an Emmy Award as co-producer for the Good Food Factory TV Show, for which he wrote and performed 15 songs. Member of BMI since 1987.
